So many times an item is crocheted, which really doesn’t have a purpose.
It’s gorgeous. It’s taken forever. You’ve used specialised yarns.
But, really, when all things are considered, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT????
The Crocheted Barrier Reef using Hyperbolic principles keeps touring, like a Demented Energizer Bunny with a passport, but really… what would you do with it????
Here’s an idea-

Hmmm….. It’s pretty but…. when would you wear it? or it’s matching beret?
I’d wear it. But then, I love funky artistic clothing.
My arty Mum would probably wear it!
I bet she makes a great living with these designs.
Not my style, but I know some folks who would probably wear it to an art show opening or the like. I’m a beginner crocheter and just finished a non-usable blanket. It took forever to finish and now I don’t know what to do with it…sigh…
Nope, I most certainly would not wear it.
I will admit it takes a lot of talent to make something like this. Or a lot of drugs, you be the judge. It looks like the Little Mermaid sat too long waiting for her prince and the barnacles ate her ass.
No I wouldn’ wear it.
It looks like it was made for a theme party or some kind of exhibit rather than something that was meant to be worn as a regular outfit.
If it were meant to be put over an evening gown, I think they would have pictured it that way. Since it is pictured with a turtleneck I don’t think this is the case. Yes it took a lot a time and talent to create this monstrosity but it is what it is….fugly.
Holy Cow, YES! This is a question I constantly ask myself and one that I fear keeps me from becoming an awesome, experienced, can-crochet-anything, crocheter. But at least I haven’t made anything totally useless yet.
Go scuba diving??
Theme party? – Yes.
Halloween? – Yes.
Opening of an aquarium? – Yes.
In public, other than those mentioned above? – Hell no.
I would wear it, with a nice dark blue dress. And a matching ocean-themed bracelet. but then again, i go to lots of artsy kinds of things, so.
That is truly a work of art! Almost TOO GOOD to wear outside…where people can see it….and point and stare…
Eww, what’s growing on it?

I’d wear it, but would probably extend it a bit to add some sort of sleeve, or at least armholes, so it doesn’t spin around my neck….
With what? Anything…. Turtlenecks would probably “work” best, but if I made it, I’d sure want to show it off, and wouldn’t worry too much about what I was wearing under neath.
Not the beret, though… looks like it would be falling off from the weight of the yarn, or down over your eyes….
