What Not to Crochet

Maybe for a dare?

Why is this

An Example of What Not to Crochet?

A. It’s the colour. Colours, Colooooooooooooors…So MANY COLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOURRRRRRSSSSSSS    (ARGH!! MY EYEEEEEEEEEEESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!)

B. It’s the confetti ribbon yarn teamed with lime green acrylicy stuff.     Can you spell “Need to market this year’s novelty ribbon yarn crap?”

C. It’s the lacy stitching in the sleeves and the superwide collar. (Go on – I dare you to say “it’d be ok in other colours…”)

D. All of the above.

If you make it then… well… you deserve moths!!

Looks like she has something fiddly in her hair as well! The
whole ensemble hurts my eyes and her look says please
feel sorry for me!

wait, isn’t that knitting?

Well…other colors would be a good start. I agree the collar needs to go. I think the sleeves are ok, but really, shouldn’t your sweater cover your chest? Or a least reach your belly button? Or something?

what if……..it was done in black and had no collar? its not my cup of tea…..someone out there will like it!

Is there a date and a universe on this pattern? I mean it was not meant to be created in this century in the Milky Way was it?

Ok – i’ll say it the lacy stitching on the sleeves isn’t too bad – but it would only work if the whole thing was a lacy top – and you dropped that hideous wide collar… :)

But the model is so alluring, don’t you think? Like she’s singing Come-on-a my house, my house, I’m gonna give you kool-aid splattered fun fur, Come-on-a my house, my house, I’m gonna give you chartreuse sleeves that double as sieves.

There’s a look to the models face that leads me to believe she’s trying to tell us something… Could be she’s looking for the bathroom. I know if someone draped a hideous thing that looked like the dog just puked it up around my shoulders I’d be about to crap too.

*wow* that’s _fugly_…
even _I_ haven’t made something like that;)

Not that it would make it any better, but I think it is knitting indeed.
I said it didn’t made it any better. There are lots of ugly knits around too.

This is definitely a ‘what not to crochet’ coz I do believe that this is knitted!

If the lace was removed (both sleeves and collar), it wouldn’t be so bad.

It would be ok in dark brownish grey, because then you could “forget” it in the buss floor and no-one would notice anything.
To make it better, one would need different yarn, colors and pattern. >:->
The moths wouldn’t touch this thing. They at least have some tastebuds!
And, yes, it’s knitted…

gaaaaaaaah!!!!

In a normal color (black!), without that horrid, horrid collar, I don’t think it would be bad. I would totally wear if it were a bit longer… maybe with a hood or something. I actually dig those sleeves, personally. They kind of have a hippie thing going on.

But as it stands, yeah, it’s mind-blowingly fugly.

Does the model remind anybody else of Christa Miller?
