Wearable or Art?

This is a concept piece I know.

It’s an Artistic expression.

I’m willing to accept that these more  outré designs are there to stimulate and provoke,

but still…..

A wizard should know better!!!!

Gaultier should know better

This is a Gaultier Irish Crochet trainwreck!

  1. I seriously need to make sure my girlfriend never sees this girls hair.. she takes long enough as it is.
    Yikes.
I’m kind of into the outfit though i’m afraid!

  2. Question…..How does one go about getting out of this outfit?

  3. it’s art. I wouldn’t wear it to work or anything, but it is AWESOME.

Except for the fur. I don’t mind the yarny parts (it being art and all), but I take exception to the fur. Bad Gaultier! No!

  4. Take away the furry arm things, and the leg part, and I actually LOVE the part in the middle.

    I’m a fan of Gaultier though. ;)

  5. I didn’t know you could crochet your own hair!!?!?!!

  6. That’s one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen! Yet, I feel strangely inspired. :-)

  7. the look on the models face screams…WHY ME

that “outfit?” is aweful. It doesn’t look like art to me, it looks like….I have no words for what it looks like.

They only thing it inspires me to do is never look at it again.

  8. I actually remember seeing her on one of those vintage “Star Trek” shows…okay, not really. She does resemble one of those evil alien vixens that poor McCoy was always falling in love with. Costume designers everywhere, rejoice! This one’s for you.

  9. Is there a runway for this type of stuff? It looks amazing as art. I would love to see this live.

  10. I have to see the shoes before I can fully judge the piece.

  11. That’s pretty cool!

  12. Thank you so much for all the laughs. I love your comments about the pictures even more than the pictures themselves (does that need to be said?) Anyway, you helped me get my mind off my troubles for a while. Thanks.

  13. Dang! How did she get hold of my Warrior Crochet Princess outfit???

  14. I agree with Kim. The middle part of this piece is pretty nice looking. The fuzzy sleeves… not so much.

Still, it is an interesting piece of art.

  15. Everything but the stockings. The stockings REALLY bother me. A lot.

  16. you know, if you’re thinking of it as art… i thinks it’s really cool. it reminds me of midsummer night’s dream… or the snow queen, maybe. fantasy art.

  17. I think it’s outrageously beautiful, but please remove those fuzzy sleeves.

  18. As a haute couture concept piece, I think it hits the mark exactly. I’m not overly fond of the sleeves, but find the rest quite interesting.

  19. If he had stopped at the waist and used a very full ballgown type skirt instead, it would have been so much more palatable. …it’s very well executed if completely impractical!

  20. I love this. Except for the sleeves. I certainly wouldn’t wear it as is - I would definitely wear the cream colored portion as a top. - but it is so lovely to look at.

  21. Her hair creeps me out. It’s cool but creepy. Imagine turning your hair into a crown. And wearing it that way. The top’s kinda cool, but I think that girl needs a hug now.

  22. This is so bad it’s downright awesome!

  23. Hey, when I was a kid I used to wonder how my hair would look if I did that to it! My bad habit in class was twisting bits of hair - and that’s the result. So, thanks for the confirmation that it would, indeed, look really odd!
And that… thing… i think with some elements left out, it could be altered to make a pretty cute top. Okay, a lot of elements left out.

  24. I kinda like the sleeves - but with another outfit entirely.

  25. The arms are thicker than the model! Note: the “furry arms” is a hotel on Sesame Street.
