There seems to be a disturbing trend as part of the “crochet revolution” to create a swathe of ”super-quick” patterns, using up the latest trendite yarn.
I can understand there is a significant appeal for the easy gratification of something you can finish in one day. There’s less temptation to put it aside for the next new batch of yarn that you just have to start something withrightNOW!
but honestly:
I am unconvinced that this is either a) “slinky”, b) “sophisticated” or c) “fun”.
And to test whether it looks better in different colours, I conducted a short and highly scientific test (it’s called the recolour feature in Microsoft 2007 Powerpoint as I don’t have Photoshop available at present) with the following results:
I think thats a big NOPE.
This looks like a pattern from a very old copy of Quick and Easy crochet I have stashed away somewhere.
It has not improved with age. I still don’t like it.
It reminds me of a crocheted art smock. Yuck
If you were to wear that. your loved ones might hold and intervention for you.
Hmmm, that’s interesting.
Hilarious website, most fun I’ve come across in a long while!
Not to mention that it will snag within nanoseconds.
ROTFLMAO….Love the test results!!!
and I ditto that big NOPE.

This is very, very, very UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who ever thought this one up surely didn’t have anything better to do.
I am ashamed on two counts…
1. that this was made at all and the results were photographed for all the world to see.
2. that you are perpetuating this “,,,,,,,,” by printing the picture not only once but many times.
This is the reason people cringe when “crochet” is mentioned. how can anyone who knows how to crochet treat this great craft with such disrespect?
Eeww
Somebody got paid to do that didn’t they? WOW, and I thought the commercials on TV were bad.

I think the lesson learned from this is that when an afghan decides to vomit on you, you should wipe it off!
