There are a few principles that our beloved original Poster said to hold on to when choosing something to demonstrate what shouldnt be crocheted.
We dont pick on people’s home grown stuff - unless its a published pattern or for sale on eBay. There’s a lot of love that goes into those home grown pieces and so that makes them exempt… (Unless you sell them on eBay, Mohair Lady!)
We dont pick on 70’s fashion. Its just too easy…
Ok.. how about .. we’ll try not to pick on 70’s fashion.. but we do it to remind people that we should learn from our mistakes. And its screamingly funny!
We *will* look at anything that involves boobs, nipples, or fun fur; is unflattering to the ordinary female form, has horrible colours or intent and…
well… looks like this
Fringed, wool-patchwork/crochet poncho, £44.99; “only” £44.99!!

OMG, not only is it very unflattering but it looks like they used up tons of yarn for it! What a yarn waste.
That afghan should have been left on grandma’s couch where is belongs.
Does that include a camel?
Gee just what I want to wear on safari!
You don’t pick on 70’s fashions? Aww, I had some vintage 70’s fugs I wanted to submit. No kidding, one of them puts a target on your chest, and the model’s pose seems to emphasize the point.
This thing in today’s post looks like somebody tried to turn an Attic Windows quilt into a poncho.
Man, for a minute there I heard the theme song from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly…….wahhh, wahhhh, wahhhhhhh.
So much time spent on something so ugly…..what a waste.
*falls over and dies*
AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
I love the model though. She’s really trying to sell it, isn’t she?
“Look how happy I am because I’m wearing this! Don’t you want one just like it? You know you do!”
YIKES!
Anyone else have the theme from “The Lion King” running through their head?
Things like this are my biggest peeve with crocheted clothes. There’s a difference between wearing something that’s hand-made and wearing something that looks like someone’s couch cover.
So bad. So very very bad.
Were the camels meant to distract us? It’s not working! LOL
If you have to stand in an unnatural pose to model a garment, that should be a clue right there that it just isn’t working!
Awww I like it.
Id wear it.
you know even for the 70’s I don’t think this would be acceptable to wear in public.
I like it too, but camels? WTF !
This was quite obviously the product of a long acid (hallucinogen) trip.
