Ok…
Lets talk about an important topic.
Everybody has two. Some people have a couple more as proof of evolution. But by and large.. nipples are.. around… They have a useful purpose (and I have to convince my friends’ son that mine dont work the same way as his mother’s as he unerringly heads for my rack when I pick him up) but .. we dont need to have them on display (unless of course we’re Britney or Paris)..
So.. Designers, please take note..

This is lined…thankfully! Buts its getting close to the danger line!

I have to agree with Wendy-the first one does look like its on a kid and the second looks like it needed to be made bigger if they were going to subject us to it in the first place!

My mother once bought me a top similar to these two from a thift store and I found it hilarious. White cropped halter top with floral crochet motifs = “Mommy, mommy, I’m a doily!”

Ummm- I’m almost 40 and still built like the “kid” in the first photo. I might find this useful to adapt into a lingerie piece, or to show off my boob tattoos at a biker convention, but not in general public! And number two- someday she’ll be picking those up off the floor before she stands up- I’ll never have that problem! LOL! Way to tight for a rack that huge- girlfriend, you should be ashamed. Done in a nicer yarn, lined with a contrasting fabric and APROPRIATELY SIZED, #2 could be cute for the younger crown, but not for me. Hey- I still got it at 40, I just know better than to try and compete with the newer models! ROFLMAO!

A boy hits puberty, oops he develops gynecomastia which has mammary glands.. it is legal for him to go without a shirt, why? … use logic here, it is flesh, who cares. My sister says she finds topless men sexy, so why is that legal. There is nothing nasty, or immoral about a female chest, it is a natural work of art so why don’t people just grow up out of their socially brainwashed mind sets and learn to think logically and for them self. It’s just skin, like you said everyone has them. what’s the big deal if it is “exposing” when men can walk around without shirts all day. Why the discriminative sexism? Open your minds, step outside the brainwashing and look at the bigger picture.

Just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should be done. I’m a firm believer in the line from ‘Hackers’, “Spandex is a privilege, not a right”. The same principle applies to crochet items with too many gaps in the design. Some things should be revealed, not hung out. If you want to go naked, do it at home and save the rest of us countless years of therapy. Of course there’s humor in the situation… In these parts people would say it looks like two possums wallering around in there.

Pretty sure that these tops are actually intended to be worn OVER another shirt … seriously, I work at a clothing store and it is just amazing what people think they can wear.
On a similar note — vests are also meant to be worn with something underneath them, and those long tunic-looking shirts aren’t a dress, you’re supposed to wear them with pants/leggings.
It really is crazy how people think that that’s how they’re supposed to wear things. I mean, hello, if you’re butt/boobs are hanging out, maybe you should consider that you just aren’t wearing it properly.
Also, has neither of these people heard of a bra, because *a lot* of people wear a bra with tube tops or halters.

“Years of therapy” ? Are you serious ? What is it that you perceive about the sight of a woman’s nipples that could cause a person so much distress as to require therapy to overcome ? ROFLMAO You women really need to get with the program. We are human, these are bodies, we were not born clothed. Just because our society deems it socially unacceptable to be seen in public unclothed, does not mean we should harbor such shame and — disgust ? disdain ? — over the human body. Jeeeeeeez !!!

I think this would be O.K. for in the HOUSE ONLY… But it must be lined and have SUPPORT bulit in.

And why not? I prefer to see nipples, than breasts with augmented, hidden nipples like they do in ads, that’s just wrong and scary!

The first one looks like it’s being worn by a twelve-year old. I’d be embarrassed (and my mother would be mortified) if my daughter wore something like that into public.
The second one looks like it’s straining to contain the, ah, boobness.
