To start with a couple of thank yous - to the originators of this wonderful blog for opening it up to new contributors, to the person who first put a hook in my hand and told me to give it a go and finally to the person who sent in this :

its the flower that pushes it over the edge
It’s for travel. You see, when you run out of room in your carry-on, you just pull this off your head, turn it upside-down et voila! A purse!
PepperjackCandy, you took the words right off of my keyboard!!!
I think it’s cute, the two corners on the top are supposed to look like “cat ears”, I think. It’s probably very simple to make and with better yarn, I think it has the potential to look good!
I guess I’m the dissenting voice on this one. These kitty-ear hats were all the rage in Helsinki last winter, and I think they’re adorable.
Darn. Snarking’s more fun.
I’d add tassels to the points. That way it’d look like a bear’s head with earrings.
Extra room for your … ears?? You could always make a very small one for your cat.
Actually, it DOES look cute, as a purse. I don’t care for the model, though…
=oD
Except for the flower, it looks vaguely like something Medieval, in which case, it desperately needs a veil.
No wonder they couldn’t get a real live person to model this one.
Actually have seen this made with tassels on the ends for babies, with a matching sweater and it is cute, but there are things which don’t translate to adults.Or at least they shouldn’t. Friends don’t let friends crochet fug!
And a strategically placed flower to “try” to hide at least one point anyways.
I love the hat, just what’s up with the yarn? It’s like a cat coughed up and someone said “Oh yeah fugly green and s**t brown go together”. Yikers!
I could live with this for kids - having read your comments - but its still wrong in terms of yarn, the flower, the whacked-out expression on the model’s face…
I love it!
I find the design stupid, yes, but for me it largely comes down to the horrible yarn. I. Hate. Those. Colors.
Hmm, i hate the colors too but these ugly head things are actually kind of in fashion aren’t they. you know the whole grunge thing.
